Show THE CONSOLIDATED MINE A Old Miners Opinion of This Property Nothing has been heard from the Consolidated Mining and Milling com panys property since the opening ot the tramway on which occasion several sev-eral tons of ore were sent down the tram says the Brigham City Bugler As far as we could learn no ore has been shipped so far and the railroad i has showed no signs of building a spur over to the foot of the tramway Anxious to learn something concerning concern-ing this pronerty a Bugler reporter Interviewed a miner the other day The gentleman does not care to have his name mentioned but he is a practical prac-tical old miner has made money on mines still owns and is working claims in the vicinity of the Consolidated and has prospected over those regions as thoroughly as any man living When questioned by a Bugler reporter re-porter he said in substance Yes there are good bodies of ore in that re lon If T had S5000 to snend in I developments I am positive T could open up a big mine I know the Consolidated Con-solidated people have two claims that have shown paying ore near the surface sur-face I hardly understand their big tunnel operation because instead of following the trend of the veinsof ore they are cutting them at right angles in this way numerous veins may be tapped but much ore Is not got out Whether the tunnel has yet produced ore that will justify all the thousands of dollars that have been expended on i no one seems able to say Such persons that might be able to do so do not seem anxious to impart this information mat to the public The Bugler will gladly publish such news Notes Prom the Richfield Censor J L Foutz sr has just brought a 4horse load of copper ore from the mines north of Tuba City Coconino county Ariz These old mines have been known for years and would be excellent navers if a railroad was nearer The ore brought in will be shipped to Butte to ascertain the cost of working and if satisfactory an English Eng-lish company will buy the claims Gold Mountain City is perhaps the newest town in Utah to claim a place and name At the forks of Mill Creek some three miles above the Morrison ranch Robert Ridges and Charlie Void have staked off the future center foi the mines southwest of the Sevier valley val-ley Already the miners and mine owners speculators and ranchers are investing Dan Jensen has a business lot on the future Main street where he will establish a store and C D Burkholder has a hotel site secured while lots are cheap Will Morrison was down from the canyon yesterday He expects a great deal from the mines during the cornIng corn-ing summer and he will evidently not 1 be disappointed The strike of a month ago on the Jake Miller property has attracted a great deal of attention and the option of the Salt Lake parties par-ties lapses soon I they do not take I up several other buyers are awaiting await-ing the opportunity of getting half interest for 25000 Jim Long is pushing work on his Breckinridge mine and feels happy over the outlook His three shifts of men are dumping out lots of pay rock and Jim sends letters out every few days wanting to hire more workmen The very best ore now being dumped out is from the Blue Bird mine The owners of the Blue Bird never were so highly encouraged and rumor has it that the Blue Bird will have a still heavier force as soon as spring comes I The Silver Moon G W Clay is just in from the old Silver Moon mine at Grantsville near the Third Term Mr Clay recently purchased this property which is an old producer and he is now working a force of five men in its develppment under the direction of Fred Rose In the purchase of the Silver Moon Mr Clay made a payment down of 5000 and he states that he is to make a further payment of 15000 from the product of the property but ho believes that it will not take him long to do this as soon as the roads become passable pass-able as he is now working in a fine jody of ore that assays 70 per cent lead and 12 ounces in silver to the ton Mr Clay states that the snow is quite deep at the mine at the present pres-ent time and that it is difficult to goo go-o and from the property on this account count S Ore and Bullion The ore and bullion receipts yesterday I yester-day were as follows S Commercial National Bank Ores 1265 Bamberger McMillan Ores 5329 1 McCornick CoOres 6150 T R Jones Co Bullion 8300 ores 20500 Silver and Lead Quotations The silver and lead quotations yesterday I yes-terday were a follows Western UnionBar silver 64j cents lead 290 casting copper 1 cents S United Press Bar silver 6H cents lead 320325 lake copper 1 cents |
