Show harriet lee iee passed away in last weeks CLIPPER we announced that the remains of harriet A lee of woodruff who passed abayon the of last lait month arrived here on the and was buried on the we promised to give a 3 brief account of her busy and useful life in this ibis paper which we will now attempt to do site she was born on dec in rutland co state of vermont she was the daughter of daniel carter the oldest child of the family her parents being members of the church of jesus christ of latter day saints saint at an early date moved to kirtland I 1 ohio and later to missouri Alls arid and nauvoo she experienced all the hardships liard ships encountered by the saints also resided for a time in ili little mosquito creek which is near winter quarters at this place she became acquainted with W 11 II lee and was married on the I 1 ith of march 1849 she lost her mother in nauvoo she came to utah in 1850 living at cottonwood until 1855 when the family moved to bountiful where they resided until 1873 then moving to woodruff her vast experience and nd willingness to do good together with her natural ability made her a fib it leader iu in the social sphere in ili which she moved site she wits was president of the re kelie society counselor to dent of the primary and a sunday school teacher at woodruff up to the time of her death her deah was caused by heart failure the funeral services were held in the meeting house at woodruff where the largest audience assembled that has ever met in that house the remains were in the bountiful cemetery her trials were not all over with when she had reached utah for her husband was away as a missionary among the the first seven y years cars after their arrival and it at the time of the move he was in canada on a mission she leaves a husband six children twenty eight grandchildren and one great grandchild to mourn her loss |
