Show ORD ORDINANCE CE IN RELATION TO STREETS AND ROADS WITHIN THE LIMITS OF BOUNTIFUL CITY SEC 1 BE IT ORDAINED BY TRE THE city council of bountiful city that it shall bothe be the duty daty of 0 the street supervisor to see bee that all ordinances ordinance sor or order ol of the city council relating to roads roada streets sidewalks ditches and water sects beets are complied with and he shall make a full report monthly in whitin writing to the city council ot of all work done 0 of all moneys expended under his supervision S tor for what purpose and where and it shall also be his duty to take charge ol of all tools material and property belonging to the city and employed in working on the roads and streets SEC 2 tho the streets of bountiful shall be and the same are hereby named and designated as follows to wit the streets running north and south on the west side of what is known as aa the tabernacle block shall be known and designated as aa first west street second west street third west street and so on to the west boundary line of said city SEC 3 the streets running north and south on the east side of said tabernacle block shall be known and designated as first east street sand east street and so on to the east boundary line of said city SEC 4 the streets running g east and west on the north korth side of said tabernacle block shall bo be known and designated as aa first north street second north street and so on to the north boundary ins ine of said city SEC 5 the streets running east and west on the south side of said tabernacle block shall be known and designated as first south street second south street and so on to the south boundary line of said city SEC 6 the street supervisor shall where the same has not already been defined cause a measurement to be made denning defining the outside limits of the sidewalks on the streets of the city as may be prescribed by the city council and every verson person owning property adjoining such sidewalk is hereby required to keep said sidewalk in good repair la in the manner prescribed by the city council and to the acceptance of tile the street supervisor the sidewalks on all roads roada or streets four rods wide or over shall be eight feet wide on all roads or streets under tour four rods wide shall be six feet wide the water ditch or sect shall be on the outside edge of sid aid sidewalk and all shade trees set on four rod streets shall be seven and one half foot from the line of the adjacent property and upon streets less than four rods shall be five and one halt half feet from the line of the adjacent property provided that all property owners shall have six months in which to complete their sidewalks after being served with notice by the supervisor before any penalty for neglecting or refusing to complete such sidewalk shall be enforced SEC 7 any person failing or neglecting negis Is c ting to keep the sidewalk in front ol of his hi s property or place of business in good repair and free from all obstructions shall be liable on conviction thereof to a flue fine in any sum not exceeding dollars and shall also aleo be liable tor for all damages caused thereby SEC 8 no person shall make or cause to be made any excavation in any road or street within the city limits for any purpose whatever without first obtaining a permit from ill the e C city ity council or from some person authorized to grant such per permit mit by said council and subject to such regulations as the said council may prescribe every application tor for such license shall be in writing signed by the applicant or his legal representative and shall set forth the dimensions of the proposed excavation and the purpose for which it is to be used and every such license shall provide that the excavation licensed shall not be used for any purpose other tharl than that stated in the application and may at any time be revoked by the said council SEC 9 whoever is duly licensed or permitted to occupy a part of a street while making an excavation or fo for r any other purposes purpose shall provide a sate safe and convenient passage tor for public travel a round or over so and shall be responsible to the city for all iv injuries juries sustained or damages done in consequence of his bis neglect so t to 0 do whoever violates any of the provisions of 0 the preceding two section ionn 13 shall be liable to a pens penalty I 1 ty of not less than give twive nor more than fifty dollars for each offense and a like penalty for every days continuance of such offense off enso SEC 10 no person shall put pat place or cause to be put or placed any where upon a public street or sidewalk within the city limits and no person latter being notified by tile the city marshal or any deputy city marshal or any police officer suffer to be or remain in front froat ot of the promises premises owned hect occupied spied or controlled by him or upon the sidewalk or the halt of the street next such premises first any kind of vehicles or parts thereof wood lumber or fenel fencing Dg building material of any ally hind merchandise or other things which shall ob obstruct such public street or sidewalk or any part thereof without first obtaining per mission SECOND any broken wares glass filth rubbish limbs ol of trees bushes refuse matter garbage crar bage ashes tin eans cans or other like substances stances THIRD any goods wares merchandise for sale or show or otherwise beyond three feet feat from the front line of the lot or premises where such goods wares or merchandise may be exposed FOURTH nor shall build erect place or maintain upon any street or sidewalk within the city limits any platform I 1 higher than ban t the level of such street or sidewalk nor shall any person build erect place or maintain any weigh therein without first obtaining permission from the city council any parson violating any of tile the provisions of this section shall upon conviction thereof be fined in any sum less than fifty dollars or imprisonment for any period less than fifty days or both 11 any person driving a team or leading or driving any animal upon any sidewalk within tile the city limi limits tat shall be liable for all damages done thereby and also to a fine of not less than five nor more than fifty dollars for ever such offense of tenae that nothing in this section shall be construed to prohibit persons from crossing the sidewalk I 1 to or irom from the adjoining premises with teams or animals SEC 12 Any person may treet the ca car wa ariage steps or pl platforms fastening f for that purpose SEC 14 no person shall convey water tor for irrigating or other purposes across any road or street or sidewalk within the city limits excepting by by covered blumes flumes cu lverts or piping across the whole width of euch each road street or sidewalk such flaming culvert or piping to be done to tho satisfaction of the road supervisor any person violating this section shall be liable for all damages done said road street or sidewalk by reason of such violation and also to a flue fine not less than five nor more than afif fifty ty dollars SEC 15 any person who shall ride or drive immodestly or recklessly or run ran any horse mule or other animal in any ol of the roads or streets within the tha limits of this city hall be liable to a fine tn in any sum not
