| Show AN ORDINANCE IN RELA tion to poll tax BE BB IT ORDAINED BY TUE THE CITY council of bountiful city SEC 1 I that two days of eight hours each single handed or one day with mao man and team orin or in lieu thereof three dollars laffal money it id an annual poll tax upon evry every ab aba baiel bibiel min man over thony one ona aud and under fitly fifty years oage resilient within tile limati of bountiful city SEC etue street supervisor city shall give dot less leas than two days notice in writing to every person la in said city liable to pay poll tax whore where when and with what implement and under whose direction to work hi shall notify only such number at alime a time as he can profitably provide labor tor for any person noti notified fled as herein provided may pay tle amount provided in section one ol of this ordinance but if he elects to pay tile the same in money he shall notify the street supervisor of hla his intentions to so BO pay ay at or before the time he Is 1 culled called upon to labor and shall pay the same within ton ten days after so notifying the supervisor thereof it any such poison shall full fail or refuse to pay the iho same on the day it becomes due the supervisor shall proceed to collect the same by suit euit in tue le name of the city and no prop arty shall be exempt from execution ou in judgment recovered reco vereA tor for such tax SEC 3 all labor expended on ahu streets and roads of this city by uie fie street supervisor visor or under his diree ion shall be expended la in buell ina utter and la in such each place as the city Cou cottiell wy my order or direct SEC 4 the city council shall furnish the street supervisor with blank receipt books book with stubs on which shall be stated by thi the supervisor said poll tax was paid in ill cash or I 1 bor and the receipt be given to the party is bs evidence that he has paid his poll tax and said books and aad stubs shall hi ba ra ID tamed to the city cily council Connel lw wih ill his monthly report of work and batir performed on the street eti roads lanes aa and alloys alleys of thu the city SEC 5 the street supervisor shall pay all moneys received by him under the provisions of this ordinance iut ill the city trea treasury gury within ten tan days after receiving the same and if at any time there be any balance ot of money in the treasury belonging to the poll tax account the city council connell may ly resola tion direct the same sama to be expended under the direction of the supervisor on such streets roads lines and alleys of the city as they may deem proper SEC SECO 6 the street Saper supervisor visor shall make to the city council a written report on oil or before the second tuesday in december of each year containing liast the all persons assessed to work in the city during the year second the name of all those who have actually worked and the number of days third the names of all those who have commuted muted dand and the amount received from them forth the amount of labor expended pen dodon on each street road lane and alley and the kind of labor performed with such other pertinent facts an and watters matters aj a he h may think proper aids shall take effect from and utter after its approval paque I 1 by the city I 1 jtb 1893 approved april lith 1893 josepn L mayor SEAL attest R E EGAN CIL it berder |
