| Show AN PROVIDING for licensing dogs SEC 1 it shall not be ba lawful tor for any person to own or keep a dog within the limits of this city without making application to the city recorder for or that purpose and shall pay to said recorder for or the benefit 0 of the city an annual tax of 2 00 for a female dog and tor for a male dog the recorder shall register the applicants name and description of the dog doc and give to said applicant a certificate of registry any person violating this section shall be liable to a fine in any sum not lot less than nor more than tor for each offense provided that all licenses granted end on the day ot of december of each year SEC 2 all dogs doga so registered shall wear a suitable collar with a metallic plate or check attached thereto having a number cur corresponding responding with the the certificate of registry inscribed thereon and all dogs not registered and collared as aforesaid shall be liable to be impounded the same as dogs SEC BEC 3 it shall be the duty of the city marshal at his own expense to take up and impound any doz doe found running at large in bountiful city not having a collar around its neck with a metallic plate or check as aforesaid attached thereto and it if said dog shall not be redeemed as aa hereinafter provided within five ave days after suen dog do 9 shall have been impounded it shall be e the duty of the city marshal to slay and bury or cania the same to be slain and buried and he shall be paid out ont of the city treasury the sum of for each dog so 1 3 slain aslain but bat it Is hereby provided that a any ny dog so impounded maybe may bo redeemed or taken from such pound upon exhibiting to said city marshal a certificate of registry as provided in section I 1 of this ordinance snowing showing that the license la in that section imposed has been paid tor for such dog and the payment to said marshal of a pound fee of one halt half of which shall be paid to the city treasurer for the benefit of the city and the further sum of 10 cents for each day such dog shall have bee been U impounded SEC HEC 4 1 I any female dog running at large while in heat shall be liable to be killed and the owner or possessor thereof shall be liable to a flao in any sum not exceeding 1000 owner or possessor of a dog permitting the same to enter any place ol of worship during daring public service shall ahall tie be liable to a fine not exco exceeding edine for or each of fence SEC 0 6 if any owner or possessor of a fierce dangerous or mischievous dog permits the same to go at large shall be liable to be fined in auy any sum not exceeding exe eed 1000 and the city marshal shall immediately cause sal said d dot dog to be killed SEC SC 7 any person who shall kill hill or baube to be killed kille d any dog registered us Ps herein provided without the consent of the owner or possessor thereof or deprive a registered dog of its collar or to put a registered tag on any dog not registered shall be liable to a tine fine in any sum not exceeding 10 00 this ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and approval passed may 1893 approved slay may 1893 jos E r ii L mayor SEAL atte attest s t E baay |
