| Show ioiiu o THE STAGE That is the Intention of Eva Bay Hamilton TOBY OP HER I EVENTFUL LIFE Till form the Basis of a Play to ha Called The Hanimertona Scenes to be Laid In Atlantic City Special to THE HERALD Examiner Dispatch NEW YORK May 19As telegraphed the Examiner four or five months ago Eva Mann or as she is pleased to call herself Eva Hamilton widow of Robert Ray Ham ilton is to go on the stage It is now pub licly announced that the play in which she is to appear will set forth with great power and effect the dramatic life story of the un fortunate man who Is supposed to have met his death at the bottom of Snake river The play in which Eva will appear is en titled The Hammertons In the opening act she will appear as Nadino Brenn and in the subsequent three acts she will assume the role of Mrs Hammerton which is a palpable play Robert upon RohertRaya family name There will bo fourteen characters m the cast The scenes of the play will be laid in New York and vicinity and at Atlantic City where the stabbing of Nurse Donnelly first revealed Robert Rays un fortunate marital complications In the initial act there will be portrayed the first meeting between Mr Hammerton and Na dine Brenn and their subsequent marriage The second and third acts will deal with their married life The climax in the third act will bo the stabbing of the nurse at At lantic City In the fourth act Mrs Hamil ton declares that she will disclose startling revelations concerning her married life I do not care to speak of the past said the notorious woman today It is too full of sadness I have not only decided to go on the stage but have been in training for that purpose for more than a month I have signed contract with a wellknown and wealthy gentleman outside of the theatrical business who has in turn ar ranged with an old and experienced theatrical the-atrical manager to assist him in the details of booking and arranging routes It is our intention to have a strong supporting com pany and to play only in the boat theatres I shall open with a two weeks engage ment at the Broadway theatre in Novem her I finally realized the necessity of do ing something for a living and after care f ul study of the matter decided to go upon the stage The elocutionist who is preparing Eva for the stage says his pupil will moot wltn success and gave the following reasons to back his opinion She has been as extensively exten-sively advertised as any woman In America The stories of her past life which have ap peared in print will not be very quickly forgotten by the public neither will the principal scenes enacted by her and those surrounding her in her trying ordeals True public opinion was divided with a preponderance against her but oven many of those who condemned her saw it was the struggle of alone friendless woman against power and wealth Whether she was guilty or innocent about the wrongs she may have caused or endured thepe is a spirit of fair play tvhlch exists among us which will always show itself No doubt every theatrical manager will be anxious to secure her as an attraction for there can be no question about the drawing powers of Mrs Robert Ray Hamilton in a play which is virtually the story of her life |
