Show RIOT IN CLEVELAND Unemployed Bleu and Police Come in Collision CLEVELAND Sept 5A mob of between be-tween 300 and 400 street laborers who are out of employment caused no end of excitement ex-citement and trouble in the southeastern part of the city today Leaders of the mob were Hungarians and Poles who had refused to accept a reduction in wages made by the paving contractors Men at work on sewers and street improvements were ordered to quit and when they did not do so they were assaulted with clubs and stones Joseph Bailey city insoec tor was beaten to insensibility At 4 ocloclz a collision occurred between be-tween the rioters and police and four of the ring leaders all latter Hungarians were arrested and placed in jail |
