Show LAKE PARK TO OPEN I The Mile Track Will be Ready for Summer Races SOME BIG STONE QUARRIES Work Started on the Bamberger Kyune Quarry and the Park City Quarry oBenl Estate Notes Mr Simon Bamberger who is at the head of a dozen or more important local enterprises was found busy dictating correspondence cor-respondence and directing the movements of half a dozen clerks in his fine office in the Hooper building yesterday afternoon The Kyune quarry of gray stone located lo-cated just a hundred miles from this city threo miles east from Pleasant Valley junction junc-tion and known as the Bamberger quarry will be worked extensively this season said Mr Bamberger Work was begun on the quarry last Tuesday by putting on ten men and this force will be increased to twentyfive as the season advances I Mr Bamberger is also directing work on the old Dudley quarry near Park City which was recently incorporated as the Metropolitan tan stone company This Is the oldest quarry at the Park and is famous for the fine Sagging Sag-ging taken out The stone said Mr Bambertrer lies in ledges of a thickness from three inches to three feet and Is best suited for paving sidewalks curbing and stone sills I was from this quarry that the stone was taken to curb Brigham and Commercial streets and it is the only stone in Utah that has been used for this purpose pur-pose The quarry Is within a mile and a hal of the Union Pacific tracks and within one mile of the Utah Central The mie Uth Central company com-pany has made arrangements to have the Union Pacific extend a switch to the quarry and thoughthis will be a little expensive it will more than pay for itself by saving hauling the stone by wagon I |
