Show THE NEW REICHSTAG It Will Meet Today in tho Old Parliament Parlia-ment Building Then Will Begin the Greatest Parliamentary Parlia-mentary Brittle Germany Has Known for Tears I BERLIN June 27The new reichstag which convenes informally tomorrow meets in the old parliament building on the Leipziger strasse between the Wil helms strasse and the Potzdamer platz It is an ungainly looking old building with a very commonplace entrance and with no decorations But within it will begin the greatest parliamentary battle Germany has witnessed sfnce the days before be-fore the federation It is an immense hall in which there is room on the floor for almost 500 representatives repre-sentatives The presiding officer sits far in the front almost against the wall and before him is the redner tribuene from which the thunders of Bismarcks and Wmdhorsts eloquence once reverberated rever-berated I h S fnrm ml tit ufm = JJ rJJl IW = J rr = EEICHSTAO BUILDING The best seats are occupied by the Clerical party the Centrum Almost two I entire sections will again be taken up by them To the right are the government I adherants and to tho left the Liberals The seats occupied by the Richter party which met with such a crushing defeat will probably be annexed to the Social Democrats who in the old Reichstag occupied the extreme left of the hall The indications now are that a compromise com-promise army measure of some kind will eventually be agreed upon but it will be a battle royal to the very end |
