Show KAYSVILLES STEIDES Many Substantial Improvements in This Flourishing Burg New Firms Established and Buildings ErectedA Lively lloiday Week Notes on the Side KAYSVILLE Dec 31Eighteen hundred hun-dred and ninetytwo has been a very prosperous year for Kaysville There have been some valuable improvements and additions made to tho business interests in-terests of the city Among the enterprises that have been launched on the business sea this year may be mentioned the Kaysville creamery cream-ery The company was organized and commenced business under Sir Seth C Jones management about seven months ago and a flourishing business is being done Several prizes were awarded to this conpany at the territorial fair last fall and their product is in demand wherever it has been introduced The city drug store is another business born this year S A Thompson is the proprietor and he says his trade is very satisfactory Heber J Sheffield has just moved his crockery business into his new and elegant ele-gant quarters His building is the finest business block in the city and his business busi-ness is increasing almost daily E A Williams Sons have been making mak-ing extensive improvements at their place of business this year and Main street now presents quite a different appearance ap-pearance than it did a year ago Prospects bright Pros-pects for Kaysvilles future progress are COLUMBIAN BALL Holiday week in Kaysville has been avery a-very lively one socially but the very reverse in business circles The most important event of the week was the leap year ball given on Wednesday Wednes-day evening by the Columbian club Financially it was a success and socially it was the crowning event of the season There was a good attendance and the ladies were excellent entertainers There were no wall flowers and everybody I seemed to enjoy the dance II I I THE LOST SHIP Harry Taylors company played The Lost Ship last evening at the Music hall to a very well filled house The scenic effects of the play were quite artistic ar-tistic especially the storm scene at the end of the third act The play will go better when the company have had more practice and some of the roughness has been worn off Mr Taylor Mrs Bailey and Mr Crowther were each very good I in their parts NOTES ON THE SIDE Very cold weather The brass band was out serenading on Monday last Mr James Sheffield is down from Brigham city A dance is to be given at Williams ball tonight and another on Monday evening |
