Show A CURIOUS REQUEST It I Made by a Prisoner in the Montana Penitentiary HELENA Mont July 5Special The governors office today received a curious request from the Deer Lodge penitentiary I was from Dr 1 L Toneck whose term for numerous forgeries for-geries expires in September When sentence sen-tence began Tonecks flowing hair and whiskers were cut off short according to prison regulations In view of the fact that hisjtime expires in twp months the doctor asks the prison board to make a rule allowing his hair and whiskers to grow out again so he may appear a himself when he leaves Deer Lodge Accompanying his request is a note from the warden of the penitentiary saying say-ing that when the doctor is discharged from prison officers from New York state are expected to be in waiting with requisition re-quisition papers to take him back there t answer more charges of fergery The doctor cut quite a swath here some years ago with big dinners and receptions recep-tions which it was discovered later were paid for from the proceeds of forgeries |
