Show FOR CROOKEDNESS c L Blazer Arrested on an Indictment In-dictment of Forgery A Retaliatory Arrest Oeden Couits Hall roads and General News Gleanings Quite an important and sensational arrest ar-rest was made by the United States marshals mar-shals shortly after midnight night before last The party was Mr C L Blazer of y the Wasatch Lumber company on the charge of forgery Tho ccmplaint was filed by Mr O G Show of Brieham City and the forged paper was a note for 510 It is charged that the note was forged about three months ago on Hanson Co large lumber dealers in San Francisco The note was cashed by Mr Snow and did not come due until a few weeks ago As soon as the alleged forgery came to light Mr Snow went to Blazer and told him that tho gaper he had transferred to him was fraudulent and demanded a settlement set-tlement of him tement Blazer replied that there must be some mistake about it but to avoid arrest which wonld do an everlasting injury to his family fam-ily Said he would settle the matter wih him Mr Snow gave him an opportunity to do so but he made no effort to repay the loss sustained by him and ho was placed under arrest Ho was held in custody of the marshals and yesterday the grand jury returned an indictment on the charge preferred against him He was still In the custody of the marshals last evening and unless he is able to secure bonds by today be will be taken to the penitentiary In the afternoon Blazer had a warrant sworn out against Mr Snow charging him with adultery alleged to have been committed com-mitted with a woman of lewd character in Salt Lake Thomas D Dee and H H Rolapp went on his bonds to appear for the hearing tomorrow to-morrow Tho arrest of Mr Snow is universally thought to have been merely brought for spite work and for no other cause Ho will undoubtedly be entirely exonerated on the day his hearing is brought up Blazer was locked up in tho city jail last night i |
