Show The International Free silver Conference Correspondence Cor-respondence WASHINGTON April 26The President has sent a message to the Senate stating in his opinion it would not be compatible with the public interest to lay before it at this time the correspondence which he was requested by its resolution April2o to furnish fur-nish concerning any steps taken toward securing an international conference to consider the question of the free coinage or enlarged use of silver He says he will do so at the earliest moment after definite information in-formation can be properly given and adds It may not be unnppropriate however to say here believing the full use of silver as coin metal upon an agreed ratio by the great commercial nations of the yorld would very highly promote the prosperity of all their people I have not and will not lot any favorable opportunity pass for the promotion of that most desirabla result or if free international silver coinage is not presently attainable then to secure the largest practicalable use of that metal |
