Show To Extend Beclprotlty with Mexico VVAsntNGTOX April 19The House comm com-m tteo on foreigh affairs today took action looking to a further enlargement of the reciprocity policy recently entered upon on an extensive scale by the United States This time the republic of Mexico is the country with which it Is proposed to enter into closer relations and the int committees reiutumendation I accompanied by a joint resolution and interesting report in which is exhibited the benefits to result to each country from reciprocal trade relations in certain commodities The resolution whose rasage the committee recommends pro vdes for a joint reciprocity treaty on the part of Mexico and the United States It requests the President to invite the government gov-ernment of the ropublio of Mexico to ccsignate three commissioners who shall meet three commissioners who shall be designated by the President and negotiate n treaty whereby greater reciprocity in commercial relations between Mexico and the United States shall best PS established The President is tiot to appoint commissioner donors on the part of the United States until Mexico shall have signified her will ingness to enter into such a treaty and ap ponied commissioners The report suggests a concessiop on our part which would probably be of mutual advantage would be the removal of the duty on lead ores and in the admission of wool free of duty |
