Show THE FUNDING BILL Major Baskin May Decide to Go to Washington Mayor Baskin has not yet decided whether or not he will take the trip to Washington in the interest of the Salt Lake bonding bill which is now before the Senate having been reported favorably by the committee which has lad it under consideration since the transmission from the House His honor fels confident that the measure will pass the Senate without objection and go to the president within ten days He has no fears whatever regarding re-garding the upper house but thinks here may be some danger when the bill gets to President Cleveland The latter when interviewed by Mayor Basin < Bas-in seemed favorably inclined toward he measure in view of the facts pie rented by his honor but just how he views the situation now is of course a thing for the future alone to determine deter-mine Speaking last night of the matter the mayor stated that should the bill not be called up and passed during the coming week he will more than likely leave for Washington the early part of the next week A few explanations from him would unquestionably convince con-vince the president should the latter show any signs of wavering |
