Show Idaho Commercial Convention Eosc CITV Idaho Dec 1lSpecial telegram tel-egram to THE HERALD j The third and closing day of the Idaho commercial convention con-vention witnessed three sessions of this igorous body and a good deal of work none The Columbian fair discussion developed de-veloped the warmest interest in that great enterprise and plans were adopted to bring the business men of the state into its cordial tupport Some disappointment was felt that the convention did conventon nt > urge the repeal of the merchants mer-chants license system but the movement move-ment was complicated by the fact that the state had pledged the receipts from the licenses to the fund for the payment pay-ment of the state debt Neither did tho convention approve a resolution to sell tho timber lands thoughMr McGee of New York earnestly plead that the timber sup ply was the cmef inducement to build new I railroads The presence of Mayor Kiesel l of Ogden and W C B Allen of Salt Lake was regarded as a pledge that Utah and Idaho would henceforth stand together to-gether in all enterprises affecting their material interests A state board of commerce was formed with 1 B Gwinn of Caldwcll president H Z Burk bart of Hailey vicepresident Charles A Clark of Bois City secretary and Lieu tenantGovernor Willey of Warren treasurer treas-urer A banquet tendered by the board of trade of Boise City was accepted by the convention shortly after adjournment |
