Show BOISE DEMOCRATS They Meet and Form the 1 Jfifer I soniau Club of Boise City I J C Strinznn Elected President Lively Campaign to be Conducted State League t be Organized BOISE CITY Ida Feb 26rSpecial telegram tele-gram to THE HERALD Tho Democrats of Boise City held a rousing meeting at Grand Army hall tonight In the absence of the regular chairman Doc Rankin took tho chair and called the meeting to order M W Brisbco read the minutes of the previous pre-vious meeting which ware adopted James H Hawley from the committee on organization organi-zation submitted a report which among other things suggested the name of the club bo the Jeffersonian Democratic club of Boise city This club is now a member I of the national Democratic organization Tho initiation fees wero put at a merely nominal figure so that all Democrats can join The initiation fee was made 50 conts with a monthly dues of 2 cents I The report of the committee on permanent I perma-nent organization was adopted by which tho following are permanent officers President J C Straughn vicepresidents Alfred Frazer I N Hal secretary J H Hayes treasurer Charles A Clark Executive Committee Harlnn Feffly James Lusk H F Wild C C Stevenson James P Stewart Georgo W Koeleph Samuel E Meyers Committee on admission B Edwards Victor Richert Charles Chinn J J Hirm Charles Vandorn R E Emerson D J Cohn Tho club voted that no members be dropped from the roll because of nonpayment nonpay-ment of dues On this subject George I Ainslio said that Democratic principles were free and all should have them Mr Frazor tee newly elected vicepresident in the absence ol Chairman Straughn who was detained by sickness took the chair and pledged himself to do good work for tho success of the Democratic party and the promulgation of Democratic principles Prominent Democrats who took part in the discussion warn George Ainslee James H Hawley J H Wickercham Lycurgus Vineyard and Hon Ben Wilson late Democratic Dem-ocratic candidate for governor In tho audience au-dience wore members of the rank and file among whom your correspondent noticed Sheriff Joo Oldham John Davis Mr King county auditor Deputy Marshall Haas and others The club showed every courtesy newspaper news-paper men furnishing a table for their use It was intended thata meeting would soon be called to form a state Democratic league which will be done in the near future fu-ture Grand Army hall was selected aa the place of holding tho meetings of the club for the next three months the second and fourth Tuesday evenings of each month Tho club starts out with much enthusiasm en-thusiasm and will conduct a lively campaign cam-paign |
