Show MR COPES FUNERAL Teslimonlals to His WorthA Great Crowd Turns Out The funeral of the late Francis Cope held in the Eighteenth ward chapel yesterday yester-day at 1 oclock attracted an immense crowd of mourners and sympathizing friends the building being crammed to the outer doors In the attendance were representatives rep-resentatives of many of the principle business busi-ness institutions of the city including Mr Cumming and Mr Parker Mr Bennett Mr Brown George A Lowe T G Webber Web-ber L S Hills Bishop Sharp James Sharp W W Riter and a host of railroad officials and employees The opening prayer was rendered by Apostle A H Cannon and the speakers were Elder John Nicholson Apostles John Henry Smith and Heber J Grant Bishop Kesler President A M Cannon and Bishop O F Whitney the final prayer being uttered by Elder George G Bywater Seldom have such eulogies been pronounced over the remains I re-mains of any one departed as were uttered I and testified to by the various speakers concerning the character of the deceased Appropriate music was furnished by Mrs Knowlton Miss Latimer Mr Pyper Mr Spencer Mr Whitney and Mrs Fannie Thatcher The floral tributes were perhaps the handsomest ever seen in this seetionthey were both massive and elegant consisting of the Union Pacific railroad shield in colors a broken column the gates ajar anchor wreaths boquets and a train of cars entering a tunnel |
