the artist two exquisite paintings paint-ings They are most meritorious and Mr Cohn may congratulate himself upon obtaining ob-taining gems One study represents objects ob-jects in a florists conservatory grouped in artistic manner about a potted plant of primroses whose petals seem to be laden I with dew so true to nature are they and a bunch of chrysanthemums in varied hues that are half wilted while upon the other I side and on the table are some that are fresh and have been placed in a paper preparatory pre-paratory to being sent away The contrast between the withered flowers and those that are yet perfect is a marvelous conception concep-tion The tints the coloring and the perfectly per-fectly natural and familiar surroundings all idea of correct to appeal ones interpreta tionThe 1 The companion picture represents an earthenl bowl of nuts which tare faultlessly fault-lessly executed the bowl being perfect in every detail The basket of grapes and those lying outside are so true to nature that their luscious quality makes one long to pluck them All the originality of the artist is clearly perceptible and he has done himself proud in the execution of this order They will be hung in Mr Cohns fine residence I 4 4 The children of the Catholic Sunday school of this city are looking forward to tomorrow afternoon with all the eager anticipations an-ticipations of their
