learned that the American Association of General Passenger and Ticket Agentswere contemplating holding their semiannual convention in the west Secretary Gillespie made a heroic effort to get them to select this city This they did not assent to but selected Denver as the scene of their meeting They hehrd so much of the saline city at Denver that they concluded to see Zion before returning aud in the gratification of this noble aspiration they have been assisted by the Denver llio Grande and Rio Grande Western Tne ride over Marshall pass took their breath away and when they arrived in this city they were fagged out and ready to drop The reception Denver was of the most isospitable kind and there was nothing that the passenger agent could set eyes 011 but what was theirs On Friday morning they were taken to Manitou on the D 11 G and in the afternoon made the trip up Pikes peak or bust ascending nearly to the top Through the caurte y of the Colorado Midland they visited Utepasa on Saturday taking breakfast at the Dto hotel which was one of the most delightful spots they had laid eyes on The same morning they went to Glenwood Springs where they were handsomely entertained by Colonel C S Lee or the Midland where they took their annual bath which is largely responsible for their fagged out condition Sunday morning the party left Glenwood by the D li G via Salida over the Marshall Mar-shall pass to Grand Junction in charge of Mr Hooper These trips wore made in two special trains kindly placed at their disposal by the railroad Resting for the night at Grand Junction the party under the special direction of Mr Brown assistant passenger agent of the Rio Grande Western West-ern started for this city Last evening they were distributed about the hotels and sought a good
