Show MUSIC AND LAW Miss Bessie Dean and 3Ir William Allison Go East to Prosecute Their studies It will be with mingled feelings of pleasure pleas-ure and regret which will no doubt be shared by the many readers of TIE HERALD that we bid goodbye for a time to Miss Bessie Dean the popular and accomplished young lady who has for a number of years delighted the community with her beautiful voice and pleasing manners Her success in the many operatic ventures of Prof Stephens in which she has always borne prominent parts with honor has shown that her abilities have not yet been developed To this end shave s-have constantly urged her to increased endeavor and yesterday Miss Dean started for New York to take a two years coarse in voice culture and instrumental music Her efforts in class teaching in the public schools as assistant to Prof Stephens have borne the best of fruits her manner of holding the attention of pupils being especially es-pecially good Her rendition of several beautiful numbers of the May festival Is still fresh In the minds of many and her frequent salos in connection with the tabernacle taber-nacle choir have made her a favorite with both old and young She carries the respect re-spect and love of all who know her Accompanying Ac-companying Miss Dean Mr William Alli son formerly of Coalville but of late years a resident of this city will go to take a full I course of lawat Cornell university Mr Allison is a bright young man and will no doubt make his mark in whatever community commun-ity him lot may be cast A little open secret which is not down on the bills so to speak but which a friend the couple Iota HERALD man into is that Miss Dean will be Mrs Allison before be-fore they leave Logan on their way east Owing to the short time the lady and gentleman gen-tleman havo to reach their destination in order to begin with others there could be no wedding reception The many friends of both would havo been much pleased to have testified their good will by giving one Givomy love to all who love me is all MissDean had time to say as the evening train pulled out and a crowd of friends who had hastily collected to see her off turned sadly homeward |
