Show Five West Bountiful lovelies will compete in the. Bicentennial Queen Pageant on Tuesday, June 29 at the West Bountiful 2nd and 3rd Ward Cultural Hall. Starting time will be 8 p.m. The public is cordially invited to attend, to enjoy the talents of some of their beautiful girls. Admission Admis-sion is free. VYING FOR the crown of Miss West Bountiful are Kathy Eggett, Vannette Wid-dison, Wid-dison, Carla Johnson, Terri Madsen, and Cheryl Ban-gerter. Ban-gerter. They will appear in evening attire and will present their talent segments. Kathy Eggett, the daughter of Edna and the late Frank D. Eggett, is a vivacious student at Viewmont High School. She will be a senior this year. She is a native of West Bountiful and thinks it is the best place to live. Her schooling included includ-ed Elementary School at West Bountiful, and Jr. High at Bountiful Jr. Kathy loves to sing and will be a member of the Conceit Choir during the coming year. SHE WAS an officer of the pep club at Viewmont. At present, Kathy is one of the cooperative checkers at Dick's Market. She enjoys swimming and sewing and wants to go river running. Her sister . Madeleen, is reigning Miss Bountiful. She comes from a family of five girls and three boys. Candidate Terri Madsen, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stan Madsen, 1329 W. 400 No. West Bountiful. Born in Provo, she came to West Bountiful some eight years ago. This gave her time to attend at-tend West Bountiful Elementary Elemen-tary School, Bountiful Jr. and to graduate from Viewmont High School last spring. SHE INTENDS to attend USU and continue her education educa-tion in the field of engineering. engineer-ing. Terri's talent number will include a pantomime, in which she accompanies herself her-self on both the flute and the piano. She was a member of Viewmont's Symphonic and Marching Bands. Terri was first attendant in the very first Miss West Bountiful Pageant in 1974. Terri has two sisters. Friendly Carla Johnson, daughter of Mrs. Joan Johnson, John-son, lives at 220 E. 5th S. A niece of Bishop Carl Johnson, she loves West Bountiful the city of her birth. She likes it because it is quiet and peaceful. SHE, TOO attended, West Bountiful Elementary School, Bountiful Jr., and graduated from Viewmont High in 1976. Now she is thinking of attending at-tending a Technical College and becoming a Dental or Medical Assistant. Carla, a member of the Dance Club, is a modern dance expert. She was Publicity Manager of that group. Carla enjoys singing and playing the guitar. . Winsome Cheryl Bangerter, daughter of the Ronald Ban-gerters, Ban-gerters, lives with her parents at 705 N. 800 W., She is a member of a family of eleven brothers and sisters. She has been taught to work and serve others as one of the "old" families of the area. A WEST Bountiful native, she went to West Bountiful Elementary, Bountiful Jr., -and graduated in 1976 from Viewmont High. There she was much interested in gymnastics gym-nastics and in all fields of P.E. She was a member of the famed Viewmont Vykettes. She has had much experience in speech and is able to deliver speeches, poems, and readings of all sorts in a professional manner. She is an accomplished pianist, as the children of the West Bountiful 2nd Ward Primary will attest. She has chosen the U of U to pursue her education, probably in the field of Physical Education. ENERGETIC Vanette Wid-dison, Wid-dison, is the daughter of Mayor Arch and Elon Wid-dison. Wid-dison. She is another "died-in-the-wool" West Boun-tifulite Boun-tifulite and wouldn't like to live anywhere else. She is proud of her family of four brothers and two sisters. She began her formal education in West Bountiful Elementary School, continued to Bountiful Jr., and graduated from Viewmont High in 1976. She has been accepted at Ricks College for next year, but is awaiting the results of the big flood. She would like to go into nursing. She feels it a privilege to compete in the queen pageant during the Bicentennial year. Music is her favorite hobby. She plays the piano very well and sings in church and community groups. She has been delighted delight-ed to sing with the Mothers' and Daughters' Double Trio in her ward. |
