new board of directors of the Chamber of Commerce met yesterday morning at 1130 and the session lasted a couple of hours Henry W Lawrence was chosen as president T G Webber first vicepresident J K Gillespe second vicepresident and M H Walker treasurer The election of a secretary was postponed till Wednesday Wednes-day next It is understood there are several candidates It is thought that A B Johnson and 0 J Hollister are in the front ranks so far PREPARED WITH A PROPOSITION Simon Greenipau loan broker of Topeka Ks is at the Clift House To a HERALD representative he stated last eyening that his mission hero was to submit a proposition for building a railroad from this city to Calfornia to a committee representing the business I and property interests provided however how-ever that immediate action Vas taken in the matter THE REAL ESTATE BOARD MEETING The Real Estate Board met in regular session at the Chamber of Commerce last evening and held a short session Minutes of the last eeting wpre read and approved after which W H Sells as chairman of the committee on railroads rail-roads reported that they had inter ested the Uhamber of uommerco in the organization ot a company to build a line of ropd from this city to Los Angeles and asked that the committee be released from further duty On motion however the committee was continued and instructed to co operate with the committee appointed by the Chamber of Commerce The chairman of the committee on advertising being absent W J Miles stated that further time would be necessary nec-essary as the work of the committee
