Show d His First Opinion A story is told by some of the attorneys at-torneys about the first opinion filed in the Supreme Court of Utah by one of the Associate Justices that is pretty good when properly told It runs about as follows A certain case having come up on appeal from one of the District Courts and been reversed by the Supreme Bench the justice in ques tion rendered the decision He began by saying the case ea came up between be-tween plaintiff and defendant upon certain issues naming them and that the following complaint was filed Then followed a copy of the entirecomplaint and the learned judge gravely remarked that the defendant had filed the following lowing answer and copied the answer swer Next the judge set forth that from the evidence produced on the trial the court filed the following findings find-ings of law and fact Here followed the firstly secondly thirdly etc asset as-set forth in the findings of the lower court The appellate justice than said The foregoing is the record of the lower court in the case and we find no error of law therein and the judgment of the lower court is affirmed When the judge who delivered the opinion got so far as we find no error of law therein one of the attorneys who had been an interested listener turned to a brother lawyer and said The h he dont |
