Show DO YOUR DUTY Nothing that can bo said will change the prospective outcome of the election next I week in certain districts The Liberals will elect their nominees in some districts an I thePi ople are sot o to carry certain other districts It can bo told in advance in all but two or three instances who will be the representatives and councilors in the next legislature the r itical affiliations of the voters being so weU known It is a pecular ity of the Liberals that in poUt cal matters it Is not a qf stion of either principles or seep tut of loyalty to party The central idea of tho Liberal party is simply and unswervingly opposition i opposi-tion to the People It makes no difference i to the Liberal whether the People are i right or wrong in policy or whether the I Peoples nominees are the very best men I for tne offices or otherwise the Liberal is opposed to the party and the ticket at all times It is his politics to oppose and he never takes the trouble to ask if his opposition oppo-sition can be justified It is therefore useless to talk of winning Liberal to the rule of right and intelligence until the Liberal has been thought to reason and been made to understand that it is not necessary for him to Stand in awe of the lash which he has been in the habit of obeying without murmur mur-mur or question Although intelligent thinking men will concede that the Peoples nominees are the best men for the community com-munity being able trustworthy conservative conserva-tive and identified with the people we do not expect tho ticket to gi t many Liberal Lib-eral votes but wo do hope and expect that i all the Peoples voters will perform their l full dutyjonjeloction day no matter how greatly in tho minority they may be nor I how hopeless the contest is Go to the polls and deposit your vote thereby proving your loyalty and giving your full endorsement to the action of the conventions conven-tions which you helped to form j There are somo legislative districts which 1 are doubtful Of course the Liberals are claiming all of those and if they can get them by diligent work and by getting all their voters to the polls they will justify thoir claim The People should see to it that in the doubtful districts none of their voters fails to deposit his ballot So close are two or three districts that a few vot swill i s-will decide Members of the Peoples t 1 is leis 9t s L party will never get over their regret if they neglect their duty in these districts and learn when the ballots have been counted that if they had voted the districts would have been saved |
