Show WILL NOT BE MOVED The Second District Comt Will + Remain at Beaver 1 JUDGE ANDERSONS VIEWS ON IT I The Electric Fight Still Going On Before Judge Zane Police and Probate Matters Yesterday i It is understood that Judge Anderson has given up the idea that the Second district court will be removed from Beaver to Milford Mil-ford Personally he said yesterday I am in favor of Milford because if I were to hold court at that point I would be saved a seventymile jaunt across the desert des-ert which is considerable of an object tome to-me But upon investigation I am convinced con-vinced that Beaver is the better place So far as the two places are concerned it would be just as easy for those living in the south who have business with the Second district court to go to Milford as it is now to go to Beaver But there is this much to be said in favor of Beaver When they get there it is always easy to find good boarding and lodging accommodations The houses there are all solid and comfortable comfort-able and the same cannot be said of Milford Mil-ford where there are neither comforts nor conveniences Then again the courthouse at Beaver is a very nice structure my chambers are very carefully and comfortably comfort-ably furnished and the courtroom is large light and airy I find however growing sentiment in favor of a removal of the court to Cedar city just as soon as one of the lines of railway now heading in that direction direc-tion reach that point which event the southern people believe is not so very far distant I have never been to Cedar city but I am told that it is a very nice place almost if not quite equal to Beaver so far as its buildings and surroundings are concernedand that the people are quite as hospitable in every way The coming session of the court to be held at Milford merely as has been announced for the drawing of grand and petit jurors which can be done at that point as well as at Beaver and saves me considerable of a trip It also assures my attendance there and my presence here when the supreme court again convenes No I do not believe there is any reason why the people of Beaver should be in favor of a change at least for the present and until the railway is completed to Cedar city Those who are required to attend court in Beaver are ah ays assured that they will b 3 well taken care ofat least in so far as their board and lodgings are concerned con-cerned |
