Show Yes Open tl1eBlocks SALT LAKE CITY November 1887 To the Editor of THE HERALD THE HKBALD ot Friday advocates the opening of the blocks by cutting them across and making streets through the centre of them That is a very good suggestion and should be acted upon in some way or other It is a thousand pities that streets were not run through the blocks years ago But in those early diya nobody seemed to think that tnere would be any necessity for such a thing or any desirability of it Now most people realize that the blocks are too large and many wish they had been Icu I-cu through Jo ig ago The longer this important improvement is delayed the more expansive it will be for in all probability it will have to be done sometime some-time For most city purposes the blocks on the Twentih Ward bench are big enough and they are certainly much more convenient than the tenacre blocks in the larger part of the city By all means then let the blocks be opened and the sooner the better If they cannot hu cut through both ways they surely ought to be one wan and without much longer delay I CITIZES |
