Show THE GRAVEYARD CASE The Jury Agree After Four Hours Talk The arguments in the Carrigaa suit against the Mount Olivet trustees consumed con-sumed the greater part of yesterday before Judge Zane Mr Varian making a strong argument In behalf of Carrigan and against the trustees scoring them in no light language for the ignorance they manifested of the condition of the burial place of which they were the directors The jury retired re-tired at 3 oclo k and at 5 30 were still wrangling The Judge then directed that they hand in a sealed verdict in case they reached an agreement failing to do which they w6uldhave to remain out all night paying out of their own pockets pock-ets for whatever they wanted to eat At 9 oclock it was learned that thev had agreed on a verdict which wil be handed into the court this morning A rumor was afloat on the streets last uight that the verdict was in favor of tha plaintiff he being awarded 500 Of course it could not be authenticated and the facts will only be positively y known when the clerk reads the niis sive this morning |
