Show THE NUISANCE INSPECTORS Encouraging Reports From all Parts of the City Three weeks ago Marshal Phillips published in THE HEBAJD and other city papers the ordinance in relation to nuisances warning the residents to immediately im-mediately and thoroughly expunge from their premises all foul refuse of every description This was followed by the immediate allotting of one man to each of the five precinctswhose business busi-ness it was to inspect every nook and corrier stable and outhouse and if necessary for the public health order the owners to make a general clean up A HERALD reporter yesterday asked the Marshal how the inspection of nuisances was progressing First rate sir first rate The inspector in-spector of the First Precinct reports everything as being cleaned up in good styleDid V V Did he experience any trouble with the neople upon whom he called 1 I None to speak of I told him as well as the four others who were sent out that while all nuisances must be cleared away not to be severe so long as people seemed to hJfve a disposition to come within the law Reports from the Second Third Fourth and Fifth Precinct have also been very encouraging encourag-ing You think then that the labors of yourself and deputies aided by the cen erally favorable response of the citizens will have a beneficial effect upon the cleanliness and healthfulness of the city 1 o There can be no doubt of that and I am sure the city never spent the same amount ot money to better advantage |
