Show > PATRICKS DAY The K of P Have Gala Time at St the Park PABK CITY March 18 1885 To the Editor of THE HERALD I St Patricks day was celebrated in Park City under the auspices of the I Knights of Pythias in fine style A number of Salt Lake Sir Knights accompanied ac-companied by Olsons brass band left Salt Lake City on Tuesday morning on the Atlantic Express On reaching Park City the visitors were met by a committee who conducted them to the hotel After dinner a procession was formed on Main Street embracing Crescent division No3 under Captain I Osborne and Park Lodge No 4 under command of Marshal Schenck and a detachment of Wasatch Division After the battalion was formed it was put under the command of Captain T C Armstrong of Salt Lake City and proceeded pro-ceeded headed by the band down iMam Street up Marsac Avenue to the Ontario mill After a selection by the band the battalion continued up the canyon to No1 shaft where they were entertained by Brother N fJ Foote After walk over to No 3 shaft the party returned down Park avenue to town All the Knights were mounted as the condition of the roads would not warrant walking In the evening 125 couples assembled in the I Society Hall and to the excellent I music of Olsons quadrille band and the prompting of W J Crouch dancing was kept up till the call to supper was sounded Mr J Levy accommodated 150 people in the skating rink under the ball while others went to other places where eatables were dispensed Eetnruing the dance was kept up until clock in the morning when every body declared that it was the best St Patricks day that Park City had ever seen Yours trulySPECTATOR SPECTATOR I IJ J |
