Show rirnt I ubllc Reception WASHINGTON June ISThe public reception re-ception at tne White House tonight was the largestof the hind ever wt ncssed here thOU l1 It was not begun until 1J oclock Before 6 oclock an Immense crowd had gathered in tne Vicinity vi-cinity of the main doors jind when they were thrown open a closely packed line of men women and children extended ex-tended from the main entrance down the carriageway out of the north gate and east of Pennsylvania Avenue to Fifteenth Street There were fully 5000 persons inline and at 10 oclock the number had not perceptibly diminished dimin-ished The President and Lira Cleveland were assisted by Mrs Enaicott Mrs Whitney and Mrs Vilas Mn Cleveland Cleve-land wore her wedding dress of ivory satin arranged in the same style as at the official reception Tuesday evening Her ornaments consisted ot the diamond dia-mond necklace the Presidents wedding gift to which was attached a beautiful diamond pendant an in her hair which wa tastefully arrayed in Grecian coils was a diamond star or tiara of rare beauty and brilliancy The floral decorations were similar to those of last Tuesday and general arrangements practically the same The President and Mrs C eveland shook Hands with all as the throng passed through the Blue Room and the ride had a bright smile for each one rod a kind word for those she recog nizqJ in the moifins crowd As the people left the mansion the convcrsa tiou was of the beauty and grace of the Presidents bride I |
