Show Davis Republicans Name New Development Head ( - GARY GITTINS Gary H. Gittins, 372 East Linda Loma Drive, Centerville, Center-ville, has been appointed Davis County Republican Party Development Chairman, Chair-man, announced A. Leslie Derbyshire, party chairman, today. Mr. Gittins previous political offices include Voting Vot-ing District Committeeman, Regional Director for Centerville, Center-ville, delegate to Stale and County Conventions and member of the Davis County Republican Platform Committee, Com-mittee, 1975. PROFESSIONALLY, Gittins Git-tins is a computer team manager for First Securny Bank, Salt Lake City. He previously worked for Kennecoit Copper Co.. Salt Lake City and the Boeing Company. Seattle. Washington, Washing-ton, in computer operations. He holds a degree in mathematics from Bngham Young Universny and an M.B.A. from the University ot Utah. He is currently a member of a LDS Elders Quorum presidency and previously filled a mission to the New England States. He is married to the former Karen ' McGraw ot Mapleton, Utah. They are the parents ot six children. AS PARTY development chairman, Gittins said he will organize and conduct the VOTE program, the letters indicating - give Voters Opportunities Op-portunities to Express themselves. them-selves. He said that there are about 50,000 voters in Davis County who should have this opportunity. He will organize party efforts ef-forts to learn voters' views through questionnaires, personal per-sonal contact, and other means. They will be invited to speak out on issues, candidates can-didates and other matters, if possible in writing. HE WILL tabulate, summarize sum-marize and present voter views to candidates for office in the November election. Gittins said nobody can express his views effectively (that is, vote) unless he is regisiered. He will therefore endeavor to get the hundreds of poiential Davis County voters not now registered to do so in time to vote in Sep-' Sep-' tember and November. He will also direct he effort to get the more than 14.000 registered voters who did not vote in 1974 to do so in 1976. Gittins said he will appoint members of his commitiee from other parts of the county in the near future. HE WOULD like to hear from interested Republicans about this. |
