Show OJJsequies S Yesterday at 12 oclock a large concourse con-course of relations and friends assembled as-sembled at the Pleasant Green Meeting House to pay their last respects to the remains of HT Spencer Jr who from robust health after a brief illness of less than a week was obliged to succumb to that grim reaper who mows down sooner or later ail before him He was the only son of his heart broken parents par-ents H T and Mary Spencer and had not yet quite reached his twentieth year The large assemblage was addressed ad-dressed by Bishop Hardman Elder Jacobs and Reed all testifying in feeling feel-ing terms to the moral worth and the many noble qualities of heart and mind of the deceased and referring to the unscrutablc purposes of Providence in removing one just blooming into manhood and but just commencing the labor of a useful and active life and showing that he who believes in the boundless mercy of an overruling father knows that all is for the best and that it is mere presumption in weak humanity hum-anity to give reasons why Fiftytwo carriages of relatives and friends followed the remains to the cemetery on the hill side near Pleasant Green If the sympathies of many will lighten the heavy load of the afflicted af-flicted l parents then their burden is light for few voung men arc so fortunate fortun-ate as to be so widely and favorably known as was the deceased The weight of grief we cannot lift from off the hearts of sorrowing relatives let us lighten by what consolation we can offer of-fer and by that sympathy for others Which can only be appreciated by those whom experience has taught Cow |
