Show To Close Fourth Street The proposition to close Fourth I Street which we understand is to come before the County Court on Monday is I a very grave one and one that is likely to create quite a stir among the people While every resident of Ogden City is anxious to have a depot built and would not throw a single straw in the way of J the company all are not willing to wake i unncessary sacrifices to accomplish this much to be desired object To move the county bridge from where it is now to a point on the river directly west of First Street and throw all the travel three blocks further north would work considerable injury to a large number of citizens that would not be compensated for the good it would do the majority besides the expense ex-pense of moving the bridge and building the new road to it would be very considerable con-siderable According to the plans of the railroad company there will be about forty tracks run across the present site of the county road and of course it would be dangerous for teams to be constantly crossing while trains were passing to and fro on these tracks This however might be obviated by building a bridge over the tracks It is thought that such a bridge could be built at a cost that would not exceed the cost of moving ho bridge and making the new road and this plan would not interfere in the least with travel and would be just as good far the railroad people besides it would not endanger in the least anybody any-body that might be passing However we oo not believe the county court will doanything in the premises until they have thoroughly considered the matter from all its bearings |
