Show I I rl1G f t < I There is every reason for believing believ-ing that Utah is entering upon another i an-other prosperous season Last j ye was one of the best for all f classes here that the territory ever I experienced There were no disastrous disas-trous calamities such as sometimes afflict the western region Everybody Every-body able and willing towork found r employment at fair wages The I harvest was bounteous and all not i only seemed but were in fact prosperous I r pros-perous The year 1882 opens with brighter promises than did its predecessor pre-decessor We know of no mine that is not looking better bigger and II richer than it did a year ago This is notably the case with the leading productive mines of the country Several of what were then prospects pros-pects of extremely doubtful value have been developed and are showing show-ing welL They will add to the precious metal output for this season A most favorable winter for the agriculturist agricul-turist is just drawing to a close The stOle of snow in the mountains insures a fair supply of water for irrigation Preparations are being made for seeding a much larger area than usual Activity in railroad rail-road building will bring certain employment and good wages to ail unskilled laborers while mechanics will be kept busy as they were last year Congress is trying to stir up something of a breeze out here and may succeed in shaking values some for a little time but we do not believe anything very serious will occur politically socially or materially materi-ally Utah is fast working her way to greatness A few years such as the last was and as the present promises to be will develop her into one of the richest most prosperous and best governed states in the west |
