Show TELEGRAPHIC S Drowned St Paul Minn HIt if reported that U D W Young auditor of the Chicago St Paul and Omaha Stewart Moore chief clerk ot the Northern Pacific both of St Paul and 0 0 Qfesftck of Shaka I pee were drowned in White Bear lake this morning They went out in a boat and have not been seen since Two hats and broken rudder were found Chicago Pullman special At 7 o clot k on Sunday night a sailing boat with eight person capsized on Lake Calumet aad ill were drowned It was a pleasure craft and the party on board consisted < of Captain Buckley a sea captain two sons of 17 and 12 years John mitt foreman and four unknown men They went out for pleasure against the waning of friends A large number of persons witnessed it which occurred about a mile out Three blots wore sent to the rescue but though they got within haling distance the sea was BO rough that all those they intended to rescue went down and they themselves narrowly nar-rowly eCiced g Later Further particulars received from Pullman Twelve men were in the boat and they were half across the lake when a fierce wind overturned the boat The stormy water prevented the rescuing rescu-ing boats from reaching the twelve who could be plainly seen coming to their upturned up-turned bout So far as can be learned all Wire drowned Following are the names of those on board Napoleon Bucklin aged 50 his two sons Ben and James Bucklin John L Smith aged 290bie F Pierce aged 46 H T Moore 38 W T Burns 22 a young man named Foster a man named Davis 45 years old and three other men whose names could not be ascertained All the men worked at Pullman and were well known Their sad fate creates much excitement and the shore is crowded with anxious people awaitng the recovery of the bodies The bodies of Ben BucKlin and Smith have been recovered Boats are now dragging drag-ging for the others Bucklin leaves a wife and five daughters cJinith leaves a wife and child Oliver loaves e wie Pierce and Moore were carpenters frum Blesefield Niseissippi and both leave families there Bucklin was an old tea captain and well known in the east and thoroughly uuderstood the handlicg of the boat |
