Show Bucket Shops Beaten Chicago 2The case of Kobe against the Western Union Telegraph Company and the board of trade was decided by Judge Moran in the circuit court today Nohe is the proprietor of a bucket shop and filed a bill to enjoin the telegraph company from removing the tickers from his establishment and from withholding market quotations as they exist on the board of trade He also sought to en join the board of trade from enforcing its rule against furnishing information and quotations to such establishments An injunction was granted without notice on filing the bill and the motion for the dissolution dis-solution of the injunction argued last week The court gave an elaborate opinion sustaining the right of the telegraph tele-graph company to withhold market quo tations upon the ground of immorality and the illegality of the business in which the complainant was engaged He held the statute against gambling ingrain in-grain was applicable and also that the business was demoralizing and pernicious perni-cious and a court of equity would refuse its aid to anyone who came with unclean hands and asked assistance to prosecute a business against public policy of the state He accordingly dissolved the in junction This was a test case |
