Show IT is not to the credit of some of the tourists who visit this city that they conduct themselves as if they were among a lot of ignorant nobodys to respect whom or whose rights would be beneath the dignity of the ordinary ordi-nary traveler mala or female from the cast Salt Lskera know what are good manners and good breeding and when they witness the breach 01 one or the lack of the other in por eons professing to ba their superiors in politeness and correct deportment they naturally feel somewhat indignant indig-nant It has come to be a practice for eastern tourists and particularly excursion parties to behave in anything any-thing but a respectable manner in this city If they go to church they feel free to audibly comment on the building and the people they see to giggle and laugh at the services and to go out or in at pleasure regardless of the disturbance and annoyance annoy-ance their conduct may occasion occa-sion At the theatre the eame lack of etiquette manifests ilsel in their conduct At their own homes they would be ashamed to conduct con-duct themtelves as they do here and society woild not permit it We do not direct our remarks specially to our late Boston visitors but to the genu eastern excursionist generally ana would suggest to them all that in Sal Lake is a civilized educated and intelligent in-telligent community that the men are as well educated the women lib bright and pretty and the sensitiveness sensitive-ness of the people as ncato as in Boston Bos-ton that etiquette is as well under fctood here as there and that improprieties impropri-eties there would be the came things here If tourists could only brink themselves to realiza these facts the would avoid many things that mak the recollection of their visits unpleasant unpleas-ant and would also avoid many vulgar exhibitions of their ill breeding |
