Show Collision in a Tnnnel Wheeling 19This morning two heavy freight trains collided on the central Ohio division of the Baltimore Balti-more and Ohio Railway in Franklin lin tunnel seven miles west of Bel laire Both engines jumped the track the tendersand cars piling on top smashing the iron of the tunnel letting down loose rock and completely letely wedging the tunnel up Engineer Rutherford oft the eastbound east-bound train was burled beneath the wreck and killed and Fireman Hines was scalded to death John Graham brakeman had his hip smashed and was internally inured in-ured so that his recovery is doubtful doubt-ful The engineer and fireman of the westbound jumped off receiving receiv-ing but slight injuries The wreck is fearful the cars are all broken and contents scattered The blame is laid on the operator |
