Show Wool Boston 28The wool transactions of the week were 1559000 pounds of all grades J and qualities aud still a very unsatisfactory un-satisfactory market has to be reported Manufacturers carrying small stocks and why they should hold back is not clear as woo can now be bought on as easy terms as it is likely to be purchased for some months at least Fin > Ohio and Pennsylvania fleeces are a shudq lower and Michigan and Wisconsin X have also been sold at some concession bat the bulk of stock is still held at the cumnt rates for some weeks past and there is no dispositien on the part of holders to forca the market Foreign advices report no material change in markets abroad and wool in the interior is held for higher prices than the article is now selling on the seaboard Sales of Ohio and Pennsylvania Penn-sylvania X and XX have been at 46 4Sj No1 Ohio 60 51 Wisconsin and Michigan fleeces at 4244 for X mostly 43 and medium Michigan at 47 yi A Some lots of XX Ohio can be bought 46 but most of the stock ia held at 48 and upwards Combing and delaine fleeces have been selling at 44 46 for coarse 50 for fine delaine acd 50 54 for good and chcice combings I The sales for unwashed fleeces haTe been some 300000 pounds and the prices range from 18 20 for coarse and 25 30 for fine nnd medium grades The demand for California wool has been confined mostly to fall grades at from 18 27 but sales have been light comprising compris-ing only 2000CO pounds Pulled wools continue in demand with sales of 259OCO pound for the week at from 35 29J4 for common and choice supers 80000 pounds of Eastern Maine and New York telling at 50 62J In foreign wool there has been a fair business doing with sales of Australian at 4334 Q 47 and Magdaline English combing Capo and other kinds at prices indicating no material change 4 |
