Show Sudden Death Yesterday morning very early the citizens living in the Nineteenth ward were startled by the news which spread like wildfire of the finding of the dead body of a resident resi-dent of that neighborhood named Henrietta M wife of Mr Fern strom of the tailoring firm of Hed berg Fernstrom and a gloom was cast over that portion of the community com-munity heavy and deep The unfortunate woman resided with her husband and four children about a block or so south of the Warm Springs For several days past she had been ailing and had repeatedly complained of headache but on Monday evening felt better and told the milkman who made his daily call at the house that she thought she would entirely recover in a few days During the night her husband was awakened by the crying of their youngest child a little over three months old and thinking his wife somewhere about the house he rocked the little one to sleep and slept himself a second time he was aroused by the infant and being unable to pacify it he arose and began to look for his wife as she was in the habit during tae very warm weather of leaving her bed and lying on a lounge in an i adjoining room Not finding her he procured a light and repaired to the residences of his business partner part-ner and Mr John C Sandberg when all three began a search for the poor woman The husband was the first to find her at about 4 oclock in tte morning She was lying face downward down-ward with her head in the ditch which carries the water off from the Warm Springs about a block away from her dwelling There was but about six inches of water in the stream at the time and the supposition suppo-sition is that when she arrived where found she fainted and falling fall-ing as she did was smothered or drowned Her face was much swollen swol-len and presented a ghastly sight by the dim light of the break of day to her almost distracted husband and neighbors The theory prevails that the lady had been seized with violent pains in her head during the night that they affected her brain and that she wandered off in a semi demented state The body was taken home and today will be buried the funeral services taking place at the residence of Mr Hed berg Nineteenth ward at 2 oclock this afternoon |
