Show Twentieth Ward Primary Anni yersary and Festival Very feW persons are aware or the movement looking to the education educa-tion and training of little folks now being actively followed wbyth friends of the growing youth among the Mormon people It is not long since that active measures were adopted to interest the smaller juveniles in the matter of seKcul ture and training and it is gratify gtfy ing to the friends of the rising generation gen-eration to know that the movement is a pronounced success Especially so is it in the Twentieth Especaly Ward HERALD reporter accepted an invi tation to be present at the meeting held yesterday at 1 pm in the schoolhouse and was highly pleased on entering to see a large assembly of the juveniles of both sexes as well as a large number of visitors and the parents of the children In one corner of the room was a miniature min-iature fair displaying the samples of needlework water color painting walnut brackets map drawing knitted wool work worked mottoes wool flowers and other specimens of the skill of the members of the primary association the oldest exhibitor ex-hibitor not being more than 1 years of age All of the objects weregood and above mediocrity Some friends of the movement handed each of the children an orange The room was tastefully arranged and two large tables were loaded with eatables I eat-ables for the benefit of the children contributed by the parents About 110 children were present and the best of order and attention prevailed The exercises were very enjoyable Many of the children possessed fine voices for singing Recitations dialogues and readings were indulged in for about two hours An elegant elegnt rained motto was then presented to he president of the ussnriation Mrs Emma Toone Among the visitors were Miss Eliza Snow and oher ladies deeply interested in the movement move-ment Professor T B Lewis and several prominent members of the ward delivered short and pithy ad dresses At the close of the exer rcUes the assembly sat down to the feast provided Everything was orderly and well carried out Great credit is due to the untiring efforts of Mrs Toone and her aids who Ktvc labored diligently to make the movement a success |
