hereafter these lists do nol begin to give a correct notion of the extent to which tOOK has been 18Ue The organization of a mining min-ing company is a public matter and to an extent at least in this section where tbe public support is generally asked to the enterprise it is of public interest and importance Moreover the reputation of the country is a subject decided importance to everyone every-one of lU cit ze1 and i practices ore being resorted to which bring that rejutation into disrepute it la then tbe right of citizens to use all legitimate means to check and repress the practice ant so i methods are calculated to promote the welfare of a community i ia the duty of its citizens to encourage such methods Now this wholesale incorporation of I companies put on it whatever construction con-struction you please can have no effect but that of bringing the credit of onr mining sections into Certain disrepute it is not the competition of producing mines but the completion of mining organizations organi-zations which often represent nothing but mere prospects and which never have and in all probability never will return ono dollar for every ten that have or may be expended en them I has been said that the publication of these lists will injure our mining in tereits This is simply nonsense No legitimate business shrinks from or will be injured by public inspection and i the publication of these lists and acts injures any persbn in the world it will simply be those whose mining interests are toe better the lees that ia i known of them No harm bas been done or can be dene by A statement of fact in to public and peculiar a matter This morning the lists are concluded with names coming under the initials U V W and Y U Underbill S EImperial M M S S Co
