Show Reef Rackets Work one the Giiborn mine the property of Judge W T Barbee was resumed last week and a working force H now employed in sinking a shaft to tae north of the Empire woikiDKs The Giaborn is I one of the old locations of the White Reef and baa alreeady hud considerable wotk done upon it large bodies of low grade ore being found in diflerent parts of tho mine and also some of very high grille The judge has faith ic the property and as be is a persevering practical man there is not a doubt this systematic work on the property will place him in toe possession of as good and permanent A mine as the one ho baa tecently parted withIn with-In company with Suiftboaa Lew Taggard a Miner reporter last Ttiure day visited some of the underground workings of the Buckeye mine and although our trip was hasty and devoid de-void of notes enough was seen to convince ua that the mine is in splendid condition and full of promise lor the future Notwithstanding a a vast amount of ore his been taken from the upper workings the ledges still bold ou etrong and maintain a fine appearance Toe ledge at the bottom of the wjLze looks well being all ol six feet in width and carries from thirty to Ihirtyfiva inches of ore that will average 100 to the ton The new shall to the west of the present workings is now down over 200 feet f and preparations are being made for the drilling necessary to make the connection After this is efiected the Buckeye will be opened up in admirable shape The contractors at work on the Empire mine are making steady progress pro-gress in sinking the shaft and have now got down about thirty feet A lively flow of water interrupted operations oper-ations for a short time but this having been stopped work is again going ahead and it id expected that the ledge will be struck at an additional ad-ditional depth of twenty feet Ore milling 600 per ton has been taken from this mine and its owners are now determined to see i a thorough prospecting will not develop it into a bononza Silver Ksef Miner |
