Show President Taylor and Party DESERET June 19th 1883 Editors Herald On Sunday at 515 pmPresldents Taylor and Geo Q Cannon and Apostle F M Lyman and others arrived at the Deseret station The people were there en masse to welcome wel-come them A meeting was held at 7 oclock which was addressed by Presidents Taylor and Cannon and F M Lyman and much valvable instruction was given On Monday morning at 8 oclock the party was in carriages for a ride and to vie w the farming facilities which are as i extensive as in any valley in Utah On their return they visited the I dam and Sevier River and expressed ex-pressed themselves pleased with the prospect of a large settlement At 10 oclock am the large bowery was filled and addresses were made by President Cannon Bishop John Sharp and President Taylor and the people truly had a feast of fat things and expressed themselves as endeavoring to carry out the counsel of living clpser together At 3 oclock pm the party was all on the special train feeling well in body and spirits Bishops Black and KImball accompanied the party to Milford The crops have never been so promising and an abundant harvest is expected and the visit of the president and party will long be rememberea Respectfully J SI3 |
