Show TRUSTEE who signed a communication commu-nication in Thursdays HeRALD evidently had not readthough he says he hador did not understand the reply of the Commissioners to Superintendent Nuttall in regard to the election of school trustees next month If the gentleman had comprehended com-prehended the school law and the Commissioners reply he could not have been in such doubt as he displays dis-plays in his letter Trustee must have been in the office long enough to have seen how one school elec ion was conducted who were judges etc and this being true if his memory its not at fault and he will do on the proper day in July what he did a year ago next month he will make no mistake The school election law < is one of the plainest statutes in our books and it is the same now in every particular as it was a year ago The people of the district meet > n a certain day previous notice no-tice having been given for the election of one trustee the hearing of the report by the trustees and the transaction of such other business bus-iness as may properly come before them Registered voters only can vote for trustee and who are registered re-gistered voters may be ascertained by application to the clerks of the respective counties The meeting selects its own officers judges clerks etc In a word the Edmund Ed-mund law has not changed the school law in the slightest particular partic-ular If Trustee knew the law before he knows it now and should proceed to act in accordance with his knowledge |
