there been legitimate h com corn competition competition petition in Salt Lake Makes Talk I realize the fact that City creek has been set aside for one of the public parks of Salt Lake and I 1 am heartily in favor of that plan said Councilman But that will not come for several years rears ears The city the money mone now to make a public pubu playground pla ground of the canyon canon Mo Moran Moran 10 ran is there now and Strange Ma Maguire Maguire guire juire are entitled entitle to as much consideration tion as P J 3 Moran If Moran had been successful in getting the contracts for both Third South and Ninth East streets there would have hae been as much hauling in the canyon as there would be with the contracts split between the two firms You must remember that the hauling from the plant to the street to be paved Is s an item that must be figured In It Itis Itis ItIs is an item considered by the contractor I and presents an important Item in sub submitting nutting bids City creek is close in and in placing the plants there it means a great saving to the taxpayers of Salt Lake LakeI I 1 am in favor of allowing Moran to remain in the canyon until we are ready re d to make a park of it And I 1 am In favor of giving g the same treatment to Strange Maguire aguire I want to say ay y now hat when a new firm finn comes into the city and on two contracts saves the taxpayers of Salt Lake from to it should have havethe havethe havethe the same consideration as the old contractor at least A fair fall deal is all that is asked for In this matter and I think the council should be fair fall enough to give this by allowing the new contractors contractors tors tots an equal chance with ith Moran in com corn competing competing for the paving raving work in Salt Lake by allowing them room In City Creek canyon canon Fair Play Asked Fall Fair play and a square deal is what this council should give said Council Councilman man L E Hall That is all aU that is wanted in this case and all that will be given in allowing Strange Maguire In Inthe Inthe inthe the canyon We Ve dont want to discourage competition In n Salt Lake and I believe this action in filing the
