Show WILLIAM VILLIAM AVERRETT DIES I Pioneer of Utah h and Old Resident of Heber City Leaves Many Friends Special to The Heber City Jan funeral of William Averrett errett held at 1 this afternoon brought out a large attendance of frIends to pay their last respects to toone one of the most prominent citizens of f this part of the state Mr Averett died at athis athis his home Wednesday The cause of his death was stomach and heart trouble from which he had been suffering for five years ears He was confined to the house practically all the time and to his bed for several months Mr Averrett was a hard hardy stalwart pi pioneer who not only helped to blaze the trail to his own valle valley but to Utah Ht He came to Utah with the pIoneers of 1547 although only eight years f age at the time He was born Jul July 31 lS at Hancock county Illinois In a wilt willow ow In which his parents had taken refuge upon being driven from the home by mob vi violence violence olence He was known among his friends as asan asan an honest and r reliable man He came to Heber with ith the first corn com company pany of settlers In 1559 He married ElIz ElIzbeth beth Hicken in 1865 1565 and Is the tho father of nine children eleven grandchildren and one aU all of whom are Mr Ir Averrett was a farmer and stock stockman stockman man and a highly r respected citizen in inthis Inthis I this community I |
