Herbert Herbert bert when he is at his best Fritzi Scheff herself was In perfect form Her rarely beautiful voice was heard to advantage in III several songs the onlY regret b being that her numbers were too few and that she did not respond gen generously generously to the repeated encores that greeted each solo In the first act she sang A Soldiers Love in captivating manner It is a song supposed to have been composed by her lover Lieutenant Armand and the prima donna sings it at a cafe concert where she takes the place of a girl who Is too ill III to appear The music Is simple and fitted to
