Using pin to guide you, pull strap through dyed fabric tube. Then continue pulling until muslin tube is inside fabric tube. 4. Adjust shirring evenly. 5. Repeat process with remaining tubes. TUBE ENDS: 1. Sew a row of gathering stitches about Ve inch from raw edges. 2. Pull gather tightly, tight-ly, tucking raw edges to the Inside. BRAIDING TUBES: 1. Line up tubes in parallel rows. 2. At one end, tack tubes together between sides. 3. Braid all three tubes together, forming a circle as you go. 4. Sew braid ends together, joining like ends of tubes. DECORATIONS: 1. Hide ' braid ends with fake flowers flow-ers you purchase, or make "yo-yo" blossoms as follows: fol-lows: 1. Cut lour 6-inch circles cir-cles of fabric. 2. Sew gathering gath-ering stitches around outer edges. 3. Gather up stitches, insert a ring of stuffing inside and bring gathers to center front. 4. Pin yo-yos to wreath. 5. Sew buttons over gathers stitching through yo-yo to wreath. 6. Sew ring at top edge for hanging. |
